One bigger bucket produces more than enough for a group of a few people to sort for an hour or so and everyone can come away with some nice gems. Save your money and come when you can do one of the big buckets (I think they recommend doing at least the ~$50 bucket). The bigger the bucket, the better the gems. You will get muddy, but that should be expected for this type of activity and is half the fun. I have had a few things cut at the jeweler next door. You can sit in the shade and take your time sifting through your bucket, and at the end someone will sort your findings and tape them to a paper indicating what you've found so you can remember when you get home.
